Creating Accessible Documents—Word, PDF, and More

College of Pharmacy faculty and staff are invited to attend a training on "Creating Accessible Documents—Word, PDF, and More." Join us to learn some of the basic techniques you can use to make your Word, PDF, and other files accessible whether they’ll be used in teaching, shared with intramural or extramural colleagues, or used to support your business and entrepreneurial activities.

Eden Jones (https://teach.its.uiowa.edu/people/eden-jones) from the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology (OTLT)will present this training. In their role as digital innovation consultant, Eden provides support, training, and consultation for many of the technology services supported by OTLT. Their current focus is Course Accessibility for Everyone (CAFÉ), a program to help with accessibility in course materials and associated technologies.

This session will focus on demonstrating how to create documents and files that support accessibility standards. We'll talk about why and how to make sure your PDFs are navigable so they may be read by screen reading programs. Other document types can be addressed—bring your questions!
